PROVIDE INPUT ON U.S. 15 BUSINESS IN CULPEPER
Study is first step to identify possible transportation improvements on corridor
CULPEPER —The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking feedback on a transportation study assessing potential safety and multimodal improvements along the U.S. 15 Business (James Madison Highway) corridor from North Main Street to Inlet Road/Normans Lane in the town of Culpeper and Culpeper County.
A citizen information meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5-7 p.m. in the auditorium at the Culpeper District VDOT headquarters, 1601 Orange Road in Culpeper. The citizen information meeting will be held in an “open house” format to present potential concepts and collect feedback from the public. Members of the study team will be available to provide information and answer questions about the potential concepts being developed by the ongoing VDOT STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) U.S. 15 Business corridor study.
The concepts include intersection modifications, safety improvements, and a shared use path along the study corridor. The concepts aim to improve safety, pedestrian access and traffic operations along the U.S. 15 Business corridor. The concepts are only preliminary and are not scheduled or funded for construction at this time. More information about the study can be found on the VDOT web site: www.virginiadot.org/projects/culpeper/stars_us_15_business_corridor_study.asp
Questions about the study should be directed to Charles Proctor, VDOT Planning Manager, Culpeper District, (540) 829-7558, [email protected]. Comments may be made during the meeting or by mail to Mr. Charles Proctor, VDOT Planning, 1601 Orange Road, Culpeper, VA 22701. Comments can also be submitted by email to [email protected].
