TRAFFIC ALERT FOR JUNE 15 – 19, 2020
Highway Work Zones in the Staunton District
STAUNTON – The following is a list of highway work that may affect traffic in the Staunton transportation district during the coming weeks. The Staunton District consists of 11 counties from the Alleghany Highlands to the northern Shenandoah Valley: Alleghany, Bath, Rockbridge, Highland, Augusta, Rockingham, Page, Shenandoah, Frederick, Clarke and Warren.
Scheduled work is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supplies. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. When traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.

ALLEGHANY COUNTY
INTERSTATE 64
*NEW* Mile marker 17 to 16, westbound – Right lane closure for pothole repairs, Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
*NEW* Mile marker 26 to 29, eastbound and westbound – Right shoulder closures for sign installations, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
*NEW* Mile marker 36 to 35, westbound – Both lanes closed for pavement repairs, Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Detour uses off- and on-ramps at exit 35 interchange.

Route 696 (Selma Low Moor Road) – Temporary signals control traffic 24/7 between I-64 and Route 616 (Rich Patch Road) during bridge replacement at Karnes Creek. Estimated project completion in fall 2021.

*UPDATE* Route 732 (Franks Mill Road) – Be alert to changing traffic patterns for Bell Creek bridge replacement near intersection with Route 250 (Churchville Avenue). Flagger traffic control from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through June 16. On or about June 17, part of Route 732 begins serving as detour for Route 250 traffic. Work zone speed limit 35 miles an hour. Estimated project completion summer 2021.
Route 759 (Oak Hill School Road) – Road closed between Route 728 (Stover Shop Road) and Route 756 (Buck Hill Road) for bridge replacement at Moffett Creek. Follow posted detour. Estimated completion July 24.

Route 771 (Chrisman Road) – Bridge replacement at Muddy Creek between Route 613 (Singers Glen Road) and Route 771 (Polecat Hollow Road). Be alert for heavy equipment and work-zone setup beginning Wednesday, June 10. Road scheduled to close Monday, June 15. Follow posted detour. Estimated project completion August 15.

PRIMARY ROADS
*NEW* Route 211 – Westbound right lane closures for paving operations between Cave Hill Road and Luray eastern town limits, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through June 16.
Route 211 – Single-lane traffic between Route 615 (Egypt Bend Road) and Route 646 (Oak Leaf Road). Westbound traffic uses median crossover to share eastbound bridge over Shenandoah River South Fork. Work zone speed limit 45 miles an hour. Traffic restrictions are for westbound bridge replacement with estimated completion in summer 2022.

Exit 321, northbound – On- and off-ramps closed during overnight hours for paving operations as needed, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through July 13. Only one ramp closed at a time.
